Pink Opal is a variety of "common opal" that contains palygorskite and chalcedony making it a hydrated silica mineral that has an amorphous crystal structure due to the inclusion of water in its natural formation and makeup and, as such, has a Moh's Hardness Rating of only around 5.5-6.5. From a Metaphysical perspective, Pink Opal, like many pink-colored crystals, is a powerful crystal that specializes in healing the heart and emotional body. Unlike other pink-colored crystals, however, the way this crystal helps with the heart by helping with enhancing empathy and acceptance of past circumstances. This permits not only the ability to grasp and understand that what happened is not necessarily a fault of one individual, but it allows the user to then use that understanding to forgive themself and in turn forgive others so that they are able to release the pain they've endured and are able to move on in their healing journey. Given these capabilities, Pink Opal is well known as a stimulator of the Heart Chakra.
