**Blue Howlite is a man made stone** Dont let that detract from their beauty and healing properties. It is created from dying white Howlite, which is a natural stone that is usually white or gray. Since Howlite is a soft stone of a Mohs hardness of 3.5; it is super absorbent of dyes which is why this is a very common practice. The process starts by tumbling the stones for 2 phases and stop right before the polishing phase. After which, they are heated up to 200 degrees Fahrenheit and then dropped into the colored dye to cool. When they have cooled completely, the stones are finished up with a polishing tumble.
