No entry fees, family friendly outdoor event!

Come meet other members; learn about club events & activities; talk with experts and novices; learn more about gems, minerals, and fossils. Invite your family and friends for a fun Saturday outing held mostly outside.

 -Nature's Treasures Booth: Come see some of Nature's most beautiful treasures!


 -Identify My Rocks Booth: bring your specimens to the event for identification!

 -Facility Tours: see what resources the club offers

 -Cabbing and Slabbing Demonstration: Class Instructors on hand to answer questions

 -Club Member Sales: member booths offering gem/mineral/fossil items for sale

 -Club Merchandise Sales: get your AGMS Name Badge and T-Shirt!

 -Breakfast Tacos donated by Taco Shack: Coffee, water, sodas for refreshment

 -Cabochon Making Demonstration

 -Class Instructors available to discuss your project

 -Gem Capers Information Booth

 -Youth Soft Stone Cabochon Making Booth

Become A Member!

AGMS is looking for Members who are interested in an opportunity to sell their work, materials, equipment, or products. All sale offerings must be gem/mineral/fossil related and be your own work/property. No bulk sales from outside sources. We are offering members one (1) 10 – 10’ X 10’ space at our First Saturday Meet up and Network events from 10 to 2, March through September 2022.

Volunteer Opportunities

AGMS is a non-profit, volunteer organization with no paid employees. We own our facility and all the resources housed within. The success of this organization depends on members who volunteer to assist with various routine and special activities. Volunteering for AGMS is recommended for all members to help sustain our club.

 Volunteer Opportunities

    -Social Media Admin

    -Board Secretary (must be a member for min of 2 years)

    -Website: writers, photographers, Rock Talk Monitors, Blog/OP-ED writers, articles

    -Gem Capers (our annual Gem and Mineral Show) general helpers needed

    -Facility maintenance projects

First Saturday general helpers needed

    -Set up 8 to 10am

    -Refreshment: 9:45 to 12: 12 to 2 shifts available

    -Facility Tours: 10 to 12: 12 to 2 shifts available

    -Club Booth helpers: 10 to 12: 12 to 2 shifts available

    -Take down 2 to 3pm 

For many years Austin Gem and Mineral Society and Nature's Treasures have had a special relationship, sharing their passion and knowledge for minerals with the local Austin community.
